Student summer job opportunity - Artistic summer camp coordinator

WEEKLY WORK HOUR: 30 hours/week

JOB STATUS: 8 week contract

START DATE: June 4th 2018

SALARY: $14.00/hour

Organization description:

The Centre culturel Frontenac (CCF) is a hub for francophone arts and culture. It is inclusive, unifying and a creative driving force inside the community. Its young and dynamic team puts the emphasis on creating a unique artistic experience uniting the artists and the publics. The CCF owns a professional theatre and hosts 12 to 15 shows per year. The CCF also edits and publishes the only francophone magazine in the region, L’Informel.


Position description:

Under the executive director’s immediate supervision and in close collaboration with them, and in accordance with statutes and regulations, as well the Centre’s internal policies, the artistic summer camp coordinator helps planning and oversees the management a youth artistic summer camp.



  • Help the executive director in planning the Centre culturel Frontenac’s artistic summer camp;
  • Publicize the summer camp inside the community;
  • Coordinate schedules for families and professional artistes;
  • Plan and lead activities before and after artistic workshops;
  • Ensure that participants follow safety rules and maintain a proper behaviour;
  • Manage the resolution of any serious conflict;
  • Write activity reports;
  • Other required tasks.



  • The candidate must have been a full time student during the 2018 Winter term and to plan on going back to full time studies in Fall 2018 ;
  • The candidate must be enrolled in a secondary, postsecondary, vocational or technical education program ;
  • The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person who was granted protection as a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ;
  • The candidate must have the right to work legally under Ontario’s laws and regulations ;
  • The candidate cannot have a criminal record related to the position ;
  • The candidate must be aged from 15 to 30 inclusively, at the beginning of the contract.


Skills and experience:

  • Experience working with youth and related skills;
  • Post-secondary student, or secondary student with relevant work experience;
  • Be autonomous, demonstrate initiative and ability to work with a team;
  • Good social and communication skills;
  • Discipline, drive, reliability and organization skills ;
  • Mastery of spoken and written French and knowledge of spoken and written English.
